We built HouseKraft on a simple promise: upload a photo, see your space reimagined. But we learned something from thousands of users — sometimes the input image isn't right for AI processing. A blurry photo, a dark hallway shot, an image that's mostly ceiling. The AI tries its best, produces a mediocre result, and you've lost a credit on something that was never going to work well.
Today, that changes. HouseKraft v2 introduces VLM Input Validation — a Vision-Language Model layer that analyzes your image before any credits are spent. It's the first feature of its kind in the AI interior design space, and it's available to every user on every plan.
The Problem We're Solving
Every AI visualization tool on the market has the same blind spot: they process whatever you throw at them. Dark photo? Processed. Blurry selfie with a room in the background? Processed. A close-up of a doorknob? Processed. You lose credits, get disappointing results, and the experience feels like a gamble.
We analyzed thousands of generations across our platform and found that roughly 15–20% of unsatisfactory results came down to input quality, not AI capability. The model was being set up to fail before it even started.
How VLM Input Validation Works
When you upload an image to HouseKraft v2, a Vision-Language Model examines it before the generation pipeline kicks in. It checks for several factors that affect output quality.
What the VLM Checks
- Image clarity — Is the photo sharp enough for the AI to understand spatial boundaries?
- Room visibility — Can the model identify walls, floors, and ceiling planes?
- Lighting conditions — Is there enough light for accurate color and material rendering?
- Content relevance — Is this actually an interior/exterior space, or something else entirely?
- Composition — Does the angle give the AI enough context to work with?
If the image passes, processing continues normally. If there's an issue, you'll see a clear explanation — "Image is too dark for accurate paint color rendering. Try retaking with more natural light" — and your credits stay untouched. You can choose to proceed anyway or retake the photo.
What Else Is New in v2
VLM validation is the headline, but v2 brings several more capabilities that make HouseKraft smarter and easier to use.
Chat-Based Editing
Describe what you want in natural language — "make the walls sage green and add a walnut bookshelf" — and the AI handles the rest. No menus to navigate.
Chat With Tools
Tell HouseKraft what you're trying to achieve and the AI automatically selects the right tool. Zero learning curve — just describe your intent.
Virtual Walkthrough Videos
Generate 6-second walkthrough videos from a single still image. Plus POV 2 — full 360° rotation around a fixed point from one 2D photo.
Credit Protection: Two Layers Deep
With v2, HouseKraft is the only AI design tool with two distinct layers of credit protection. Layer one is VLM validation — catching bad inputs before processing. Layer two is our existing credits-back guarantee — if the output doesn't meet expectations despite a good input, submit it for review and our team can reverse the credits.
No other tool in this space offers either of these. We offer both.
